Learning through Drama Workshops & Residencies
- Interactive
- Addressing Core Curriculum Model Standards
- Tailored to your school or classroom
- Conducted by professional teaching artists
Participation in theatre expands students’ empathy, artistry, and ability to understand the world around them. It involves students verbally, visually, and kinesthetically. By exploring core curriculum content through drama, classroom residencies illuminate meaningful connections. Workshops invite students’ investigation, imagination, critical thinking, focus, cooperation, and spirit of play. Residences and workshops are available for all grade levels, K-12.
George Street Playhouse tailors each visit to your classroom. Prior to working with the students, the teaching artist crafts the specifics of the residency with the classroom teacher.
Professional Development for Teachers
George Street Playhouse provides professional development for teachers throughout the year. We offer training in all aspects of theatre practice, as well ways to deepen core-curricular content with active, theatre-arts integration models for every classroom.
