What do we mean by Arts Integration?

Arts Integration is an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form.  Students engage in a creative process which connects an art form and another subject area and meets objectives in both.

What is a Teaching Artist?

Teaching artists are practicing, professional artists who have dual careers as educators.  They come from every artistic field- music, dance, theatre, visual arts, and writing- and work in many settings. One important distinction is that teaching artists do not serve to replace school certified arts educators. Instead, we believe teaching arts can serve as valuable resources and partners to our teachers.
