Edgar Herrera-Arizmendi is a performing arts executive, entrepreneur, and lifelong musician with more than two decades of leadership experience across the United States and Mexico. As Executive Director of George Street Playhouse, he leads the theatre’s institutional strategy, working to strengthen its artistic ambitions, expand its audiences and philanthropic reach, and build a sustainable foundation for its future.

Throughout his career, Edgar has been drawn to organizations at moments of opportunity and change. His leadership spans theatre, orchestral music, philanthropy, and the private sector, giving him a distinctive perspective on how cultural institutions can combine artistic excellence with entrepreneurial thinking, disciplined management, and strong governance.

A conservatory-trained musician, Edgar believes the performing arts are both an artistic endeavor and a civic good. His work is grounded in building institutions that are financially strong, relevant to their communities, and capable of making ambitious art for generations to come.
