Edgar Herrera-Arizmendi is a performing arts executive with more than two decades of leadership across major cultural institutions in the United States and Mexico, as well as experience as a founder and chief executive in the private sector. He has been repeatedly selected to lead organizations through periods of strategic change, designing and executing institution-building strategies that strengthen financial sustainability, expand public reach, and deepen artistic impact. His career spans orchestral, theatrical, and entrepreneurial leadership, where he has led multi-year turnarounds, tripled organizational assets, restored operating surpluses, and built high-trust partnerships with boards, artists, unions, government, and business leaders.

A lifelong musician with formal conservatory training, Edgar brings a rare combination of artistic credibility, entrepreneurial perspective, and disciplined governance to his work. His leadership is guided by a deep belief in the performing arts as a civic good and in the responsibility of cultural institutions to serve broad and diverse communities. At George Street Playhouse, he is focused on advancing artistic ambition, expanding audiences, and positioning the theatre for long-term institutional strength.
