George Street Playhouse presents Summer Theater Camp 

Unlock your child’s potential this summer at George Street Playhouse's The Performance Playground, a two-week intensive at the George Street Playhouse designed for young performers aged 6–17 with a passion for the stage. Led by Artistic Producer and Broadway veteran Laiona Michelle (Amazing Grace, Book of Mormon), students will train alongside industry professionals in a high-energy, professional rehearsal environment.

Time: 9am-3pm       

Showcase Performance: Sat. July 18 @ 11am  

Tuition: $599 total enrollment ($299.50 per week)

Program Highlights

  • Professional Mentorship: Gain invaluable experience from Broadway actors and award-winning instructors. 
  • Comprehensive Training: Deepen skills in acting, singing, and dance, specifically tailored for those with "raw talent" and a drive to perform. 
  • Showcase Finale: The program concludes with a live performance on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM. 
  • Accessible Excellence: While no prior experience is required, scholarships are available to ensure every aspiring artist has the opportunity to shine.

  • General Registration: Accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and a full deposit $100 is required to reserve a space.

Scholarship Application Details

  • Need-Based Focus: Scholarships are available and awarded based on financial need. 
  • Application Process: To apply for a scholarship, you will need to fill out a specific application form to detail your financial situation. 
  • Requirements: Specific documentation, such as the parent/legal guardian's most recent tax return, might be required to determine eligibility. 
  • Deadline: Applications must typically be submitted at least two weeks before the first Monday of the camp starts. It is recommended to apply early as scholarships are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
